"We had a lovely stay at the Green Lantern Inn. Erna was very helpful and accommodating! There is breakfast every morning with pastries and coffee. Overall I find the location and value amazing. The inn is quaint and steps away from the beach and restaurants. The rooms are kept clean and room service is available upon request."

"Such a cute place in a great location. The best part about this was the value. For the price we weren't expecting much but you could see the ocean (just barely) from our windows. There's free coffee and delicious pastries in the morning, and then cookies and brownies in the afternoon. The downsides are just that it's older. Our room had a pitched roof so tall people beware. Some of the rooms only have Full size beds so make sure you get a Queen if there are two of you. The water pressure was good though, super friendly service and plenty of parking. All around great price for the location."

"Love this location and the history of the property. We first went there, 40 years ago, and were delighted to return and see it still had the same beautiful ambience, gardens, and grounds. The vintage buildings are essential to the charm, and our hosts were there when we needed them, but in no way intrusive."

"We upgraded to a larger room/cottage. Doing so nearly doubled the room price but also got us a king-sized bed rather than one full-sized. During the week, most rooms were empty. Our room had a gas fireplace, but we needed to engage the noisy vintage room heater to keep our room warm enough nights. It was easily controlled, however. The room was fairly basic otherwise; the bathroom window was overly drafty. The breakfast is fend-for-yourself continental-style starting at 7:30am running through to 10am. Plain croissant and muffin-of-the-day/danish are the main offerings, although one day bread pudding was offered. The coffee is dark roast only. Tea bags and a carafe of hot water are available. That all said, my wife and I tended to run for coffee at Carmel Valley Coffee on Ocean Avenue (just a bit over two blocks away) before 7am. Great coffee!!! In fact, Green Lantern is convenient to everything with going to in Carmel-by-the-Sea. This includes the beach and all eating establishments. Even public charging stations for EVs are not so far away."

"A very cozy and quaint retreat! We drove down from the Bay Area on Christmas Day and were very pleased with the Green Lantern Inn. The room was very welcoming and warm during the chilly holiday. The furniture is a little worn, but that adds to the character. The vaulted ceiling was really cool and gave us the feel of our own cottage. The lobby was very nicely decorated with holiday music playing. It looks to have been remodeled recently and was furnished with comfortable living room leather seating. The continental breakfast was delicious. Great coffee. The eating tables against the window wall gave us a great view of the Carmel neighborhood.Great location. We were just blocks from the beach and the restaurants we chose. We had a very memorable holiday."
