"Cannot speak highly enough about Villa Mara! Saw a previous review that this was like staying at your rich Aunt's place in Carmel and I could not agree more. From the Villa itself, to the incredibly attentive and engaging staff, to the quality of the rooms and service, I cannot say enough good things about Villa Mara. I am not normally one to enjoy a B&B experience but I absolutely loved the environment Villa Mara has created and wanted to spend my time in their main living areas, engaging with other guests and the staff. Best place to stay in Carmel-by-the-Sea!"
"A wonderful experience!!! The atmosphere is relaxed but staff is laser focused on making guests feel comfortable with every possible amenity. The vibe is the perfect balance between being taken care of and being left alone. All of the staff, especially Dev, listen and even read body language to know the next thing guests may need at every step. One evening, we ate cake we didn’t even know we wanted - how did they know?"
"We loved our stay! The hotel is so special and the staff super welcoming and helpful. The location is great and it’s easy to walk around/ drive up to the Main Street/restos. We had a lovely quiet room looking toward the ocean/front of the property. The only feedback we had is breakfast - it’s was alright but didn’t quite hit the spot. It would have been a 10/10 stay if breakfast would have been what we expected. It doesn’t have to be complicated, 3-4 well done classics and you make guest very happy. Other than that a fantastic stay with lovely staff!"
"We had an amazing stay at Villa Mara! We were greeted by the kind and attentive staff as soon as we walked up. The grounds were beautiful. Every touch carefully curated. The communal areas invited guests to get to know each other whether around the bar, the fireplace, or the fire pits placed around the hotel. We also got to start our day with a breakfast that included mouthwatering sweet eats and other savory breakfast bites. I’m telling you I had the best almond croissant of my life! The staff - George, Robert, Jonathan, Rocky, and Joseph -accommodated every request and ensured an unforgettable experience; I never heard the word “no”, and they were all so personable. The hotel is a stones throw from the beach, and incredible walks with beautiful vistas. Delicious restaurants and fantastic shopping were also only a short walk into town. This is a trip I will want to do again and again! 1000% recommend."
