"There is nothing to expect from the cheapest hotel, but I would at least like the cleanliness of the room. The whole bed was covered in other people's hair and other garbage."
"I stayed there for 7 days. They never came for cleaning or other room services. Even you need to clean your trash bin on your own. It is more like a hostel. However, it is true that this hotel is cheap. The shared washrooms are clean. The behaviour of the staffs is good. One important thing. They used to take the full details of your card including cvv. They can easily transfer money using these details afterwards."
"The rates were cheap, so I was not expecting anything fancy or top-tier. I typically stay at cheap hotels and motels whenever I travel because I prefer to spend money on adventures rather than simply the place I sleep. The location of the hotel is nice, but be aware that this is on the border of the Tenderloin neighborhood. If you are not familiar with SF, be sure to Google it and understand the area you will be staying in. Statistically, the neighborhood stands out in its rates of drugs, homelessness, and crime. Nothing happened to us, thankfully, but I wish we would have known more ahead of time. The rate is cheap. There is no ice machine. Two shared bathrooms per floor. A few shower stalls per floor. While the rooms have apparently been "renovated," it is quite clear that the walls were simply doused in a coating of paint instead of properly redone. The window in our room would not stay open, so we had to prop it open with drink bottles (as shown in the picture). Because the window itself was so heavy, my partner and I had to work together to lift it, only to find out that the window does not properly fit, so it almost completely fell in on us. The bedding and furniture is extremely minimal. A sturdier bed frame with nicer bedding and pillows would have helped a great deal - we struggled with sleep each night. The front desk was courteous, but nothing noteworthy."
"I loved my stay so much. I was working as a performer at the Golden Gate Theatre across the street for 4 weeks. I felt very safe coming home 11pm or later each night (the few homeless folks around the block don't bother you, there were never any directly outside the front door anyway). There's also an amazing community initiative called Urban Alchemy that I think has really helped the neighborhood. And there's even a bouncer for the bar The Rumpus Room next door. All to say very safe, good food around, couldn't ask for a better place to be able to walk or bus to all sorts of other parts of San Francisco. The rooms are bare and simple but wonderfully comfortable. Ceiling fan was all you needed for air. Wifi worked great. I couldn't believe how clean the shared toilets and showers always were. The showers water pressure is a little low but still doable and always had hot water. No fridge so just be aware. Sound on the street was usually very quiet in the evenings. A few times (2 or 3 times in the whole 4 weeks) I heard people yelling outside. Better than most cities. The best part of this place is the family running the Hotel. It's a wonderful family and they are always available to help. The main manager would always ask me how my show was going. Just good folks, and nothing like supporting a family-run business. And I saved $2,000 compared to castmates who stayed at Stanford Court (the next closest thing to the theatre). So I'm thrilled. Wish I could have stayed for 12 weeks instead of 4. Definitely give this place a try if you want somewhere cheap, close to downtown, and clean."
"I'm not going to lie. We enjoyed staying here. If you need a place to crash while you're out all day sightseeing and walking. Clean showers. Quite room *Room114 view of back of the building. Friendly family running the place. Bus is a block away. Metro 2-3 blocks away. You are literally in walking distance of all the shops. Parking is horrendous anywhere in SF. We used the app Spothero to find an underground garage at 30 bucks a day."
