Colorado Lagoon
Colorado Lagoon, located at 5059 East Colorado Street in Long Beach, California, is a beautiful 18-acre saltwater tidal lagoon that serves as a popular tourist attraction and park. The ongoing construction work includes the completion of utility bridge structures, construction of reinforced concrete box bridges, excavation activities, and road closures that are expected to continue through 2024. The Lagoon provides estuarine habitat, recreational opportunities such as swimming, and helps retain and convey stormwater. The restoration plan for Colorado Lagoon includes creating an open channel between the Lagoon and Marine Stadium, with recent improvements including sediment dredging, habitat creation, and new walking trails. The City is working closely with various agencies and partners to ensure the success of the restoration project.
