About the Colorado Lagoon
Colorado Lagoon, located at 5059 East Colorado Street in Long Beach, California, is a beautiful 18-acre saltwater tidal lagoon that serves as a popular tourist attraction and park. The ongoing construction work includes the completion of utility bridge structures, construction of reinforced concrete box bridges, excavation activities, and road closures that are expected to continue through 2024. The Lagoon provides estuarine habitat, recreational opportunities such as swimming, and helps retain and convey stormwater. The restoration plan for Colorado Lagoon includes creating an open channel between the Lagoon and Marine Stadium, with recent improvements including sediment dredging, habitat creation, and new walking trails. The City is working closely with various agencies and partners to ensure the success of the restoration project.

Reviews of Colorado Lagoon
"Awesome Lagoon looks a bit like a beach with sand. Fresh water clean and filled with wild life. Like Birds, Fishes, and squirls. Next to a beach and a golf course. Swimming allowed in certain area of the Lagoon. Great trails around the lake aswell."
"Great scenic lagoon in a medium-size city in Southern California by the ocean nearby. It's a quiet place. There's tables and benches where one can sit-down and read or eat. There's open areas to set-up picnics (or put up a small "easy-up")."
"We got there late, so it was dark...even tho it said it was still open on line. . Regardless,, it was fun. There were fish being super loud and jumping out of the water. My two teen granddaughters loved it. They were in town for a day from Arizona. I can't wait to take them during the day on another trip."
"My first time here and good experience. I liked that there's a park space to picnic and socialize with your group. There's a beautiful area around the lagoon to walk around and enjoy the scenery. I do recommend."
"We love coming to the Colorado Lagoon. It’s a protected ecological preserve. Swimming allowed in roped off areas. There is no fishing allowed. Signs posted are often ignored. Don’t be a poacher. It’s protected for a reason. Clean up after Yourself."
