The Pacific Theatre Arts Department, located at 3601 Pacific Avenue in Stockton, California, offers a comprehensive minor program in theatre arts. Students can explore both on-stage and backstage aspects of theatre, as well as performance and design courses for on-camera work. From acting for stage and screen to design and tech courses, dramatic literature, theatre history, and career management, students have a wide range of options to choose from. One unique aspect of the program is the Introduction to Performance Capture course, taught by renowned actor, director, and professor Gary Armagnac. Students have the opportunity to learn about performance capture technology and even try it out themselves. The Media X course, led by professor Lisa Tromovitch, delves into camera staging, shot selection, and stage combat, providing hands-on experience for aspiring performers.
