"I LOVE IT!!! I’m military retired; I show up at 4am to walk the track until they open at 5am. Once inside, it’s straight to the weight room for 30min. and I’m done. I live in Mira Mesa and am only 15min. away so super convenient and free (retired). I’ve reduced my weight 40 lbs. since Jan. 1, 2023 (from 274 lbs. | 233 lbs. as of 8/27/2023). Should be at my goal weight of 183 lbs. before next summer and this place has been tremendous in helping me with my fitness."
"This is my second favorite gym. I make it my 2nd favorite because it is so crowded. Therefore, there are not enough benches for everyone to use. Some of the treadmills are out of order and have been for a while. If there is an event in the area, they will close the gym, I have noticed. There is a group of men who play racquetball on Thursdays around 5:00p.m. I played with one but haven't been able to come back. I will once day. Overall, the gym is a great place, with all the equipment you need, just not enough equipment to people ratio."
"Relative to the size and age of this gym, there is a good selection and decent number of cardio equipment, free weights, and weight machines. Besides new equipment and an updated locker room, this gym is essentially the same as it was in 2000."
"It’s a great gym, has all the equipment, basketball court etc. just nothing more than average if you ask me. Equipment room seemed really tight on space, bathrooms need a major overhaul (smell was horrible) and locker rooms were clean. Staff was super friendly and helpful. I prefer the barn on base for my workouts, but again, this checks most of the standard boxes."
"Great place to workout if you're on base or in the area of SD and want to be surrounded by MOTIVATION!!! The busy times ar 5-8, 11-13, & ,16-1900."
