The Backyard on Thirteenth is a vibrant bar and restaurant located at 1300 Railroad Street in Paso Robles, California. With 28 rotating taps featuring local craft beer, cider, and wine, as well as a wide selection of other beverages, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Led by Executive Chef Michael Learned, the onsite restaurant offers a full lunch and dinner menu with options for kids.

Guests can relax in the spacious outdoor beer garden, complete with traditional German biergarten tables, various seating areas, shade, misters, heaters, and music. Food trucks and pop-ups may also be available seasonally. The Backyard is the perfect venue for a variety of events, from staff parties to weddings, with ample seating and gathering spaces available for reservation.

Special discounts are offered to members of the hospitality and tourism industry on Tuesdays, military members, educators, and first responders on Wednesdays, and on draft beverages Monday through Friday from 2:00-5:00pm. Club13 offers exclusive discounts and benefits to loyal customers. Please note that parking is limited onsite, but ample street parking is available within walking distance of downtown hotels. Be sure to book your reservation in advance, as the calendar fills up quickly!

"We reserved a private area at The Backyard for our welcome event the Friday before our wedding and it was the perfect venue! We especially loved the fire pits and different areas for our guests to mingle. There were lots of food and drinks options to choose from. I would highly recommend this place for an event but it is also great to just stop by and have a beer! Very dog friendly too!"

"Great ambiance! Casual, fun. Perfect place to meet up- large group or small. All kinds of seating choices, heaters, sun, shade, fire-pits, living room groupings on sofas or picnic tables. Amazing beer and wine selection, reasonable prices. Roots on Railroad has delicious food- something to please almost everyone. We loved the generous smash burger and wonderfully crispy shoestring fries. Enjoy!!"

"Very chill vibes, easy to be spaced out and required masks when not sitting at your table, so we felt safe here. The food was amazing and they have a fair amount of options for drinks. The Ahi Poke Burrito with Flaming Hot Cheetos is just as crazy as you’d imagine, but rest assured, it tastes AMAZING! It’s huge, so you might have leftovers, but the meal is worth it. Get it with some fries and you’ll be good to go!"
