"So DISAPPOINTED!! Palms(Peony) used to be a trademark Chinese place in Murrieta!! They’ve completely ruined their menu and got rid of fan favorite items like chicken chow mein and house chicken!! Horrible!!"

"I have been going here for almost 30 years. I even hosted my wedding rehearsal dinner here. The Palms, (previously known as Peonys) was a Murrieta staple. Sadly, that restaurant that we all used know & love is gone. The comfort food that we relied on after a tough day is gone. They may be backpacking off the name & reputation of a legend but the legend had died & left in its place is a sad shell of their former glory. The new owners have taken away the joy that was The Palms Murrieta. A few weeks ago I ordered the sweet & pungent chicken, white meat only, with extra wontons lunch special. If I knew that would be the last time I would enjoy that vintage taste I grew to rely on, I would have ordered 2 & savored every last bite. I would have licked the styrofoam clean instead of letting my dog do it for me. Although, I know how special The Palms was to him as well so I’m thankful he was able to enjoy it one last time. The Palms will be greatly missed. Don’t trust the imposters among us. The new Palms is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. They have slaughtered the good name & replaced it with food that causes one to weep & grieve. To end on a positive note, the staff was very kind… even though I think it’s wrong that the owners are deceiving our good town."

"As always, I really like to start with how the food looked when it was first delivered to the house, so that will be the first batch of photos that you are going to see. Upon receiving the food and taking it out of the bag, I took the lid off both of the large containers. The first one that you see is "The Budda's Feast" which was basically veggies and Tofu. I haven't spent much time with Tofu as I'm a serious meat eater, but this seemed like a nice option to try. The second photo is of the Twice Cooked Pork with a requested spice level of six. They go up to ten so it is up to you. Since this was my first order, I elected to go with six. The final photo is of the Pot Stickers, which I found to be excellent in taste and quality. If you really like to dip into the sauce, you might want to ask for a spare one as they only come with one small plastic container. First on deck is the Budda's Feast entree. As I can't help myself I went ahead and plated it and the four photos you see are of the entree from various angles. The vegetables were cooked perfectly and the flavor was great! I do think on my next order I'm going to request some heat though as I think it would have helped a bit with the Tofu in the dish. As a whole though, this is a winner if this type of meal works for you! Second batch of photos (four total) is of the Twice Cooked Pork, which I also plated and wanted to provide various angles. As a reminder, I requested the increased spice level, so don't expect all the chilies on there if you don't want them! I thought that they did an excellent job with the heat level and the flavor was great! I do wish that there was more Pork included versus vegetables, but as a whole it is a fair portion and the meat is not dry at all. The photos show not only moist Pork, but some really great vegetables! The final photo is basically an "aerial" view of both plates with the sauce cup for the Pot Stickers in the middle for informational purposes. Final Verdict: I enjoyed the food that I received and don't really have any complaints. Maybe have a bowl ready to pour those cups into to mix everything as it was a bit challenging to have to mix it in the container for even distribution. Worth a try and definitely check out the Pot Stickers!!"
