"I brought in my engagement ring to have a new setting made. Hugo chipped my diamond. This began a long and painful 6 month process whereby I got to know Hugo and Bertha well. Initially we went through possible diamond replacements- one that he offered was too thin for other jewelers to agree to work on and a 2nd could only be gotten if I agreed to it sight unseen. And so it went. From there we went to giving me money to buy a replacement diamond but the amounts they offered would not buy a comparable stone. Finally I agreed to just keep the damaged stone and have them give me funds for my trouble and to try to have it recut ( a little smaller) and get a new setting. I asked for a minimum and Hugo actually offered more than that. Long and painful and sometimes not very nice, but finally worked out. His wife Bertha however is someone to watch out for. She smiles while she says nasty things. She seems like a sweet grandma type. She isn't. Be careful in your dealings here. This was a very stressful and unpleasant 6 months. From the first time I came across the store and struck up a conversation I knew I'd be back to pick up a few pieces. So far I have a pendant and a custom ring fashioned from a loose stone I purchased from the local Ventural Gem and Mineral Show earlier this year. If only to stare at the smallest art gallery, swing by to marvel at the pieces. You'll want to pick something up eventually."

"My favorite jewelry store. Hugo is an artist and creates the most beautiful jewelry. I went to Ormachea to ask Hugo to design my wedding ring from a family heirloom . He created the most beautiful ring, I couldn’t be happier. He also designed the most beautiful and unique Mother’s Day ring for me with my daughters birthstone. It was so fun to create this ring as I was able to handpick the garnet that was used. Hugo, Bertha and family are so kind and welcoming. It’s a treat every time I step foot in their beautiful store."

"Hugo took my family heirloom opals from a lapidarist great-grandfather and turned them into a beautiful custom necklace. [Note, these stones have a much greater sentimental value to me than actual worth. However, the quality of the stones didn't matter to Hugo and he treated my opals with the outmost respect and care.] I had a vague idea of what I wanted based on other pieces in the store and what he created turned out better than I could have imagined. I had a price point in mind and he worked with me to choose features and a chain that would work within that target. I can't recommend Hugo enough. He is a true artist and I will be a repeat customer. :)"

"I have had Hugo design and build new settings for some stones I have inherited from my mother and father. I am a visual artist and very picky about what I think is both practical to wear and timeless. I trust Hugo entirely and have been rewarded with two excellent settings for these heirlooms that I will be proud to pass down through the family. But not just yet..."
