Abacus Math Institute (AMI) is a school located at 1486 West 11th Street, Tracy, California, United States. Our institute offers a complete mental development program for children aged between 4.5-15 years. Our curriculum is specially designed to enhance mental capabilities using the Abacus as a major tool. Students start with physical Abacus to learn numbers and mathematical operations, then progress to mental abacus. The mental abacus is a system for performing rapid and precise arithmetic by manipulating a mental image of an abacus. We use simple abacus study tutorials that help children learn while playing. The Abacus, also known as Soroban in Japan, is a centuries-old rectangular wooden instrument used for calculations based on the decimal system. It has been proven as a complete brain development tool over the past two decades. Dr. Toshio Hayashi, Director of the Research Institute for Advanced Science and Technology (RIAST), believes that starting abacus learning at a young age is beneficial in activating the brain of kids.
