The park was built and dedicated to the District by Shapell Industries in 1997. In recent years, the park has undergone improvements including an expansion of the parking area in 2012, the addition of six pickleball courts in 2018, and upgrades to the playground with ranch-themed play structures in 2020. The park is open daily from 7:00am to 10:00pm and alcohol possession is prohibited without a permit.

North Ranch Playfield is a 12-acre park located at 952 Rockfield Street in Thousand Oaks, California. Established in 1987, this park offers a variety of recreational activities and beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. The park features a newly renovated playground with a forest/treehouse theme, as well as ADA-accessible walkways and seating areas.
