Rancho Petaluma Adobe, located at 3295 Old Adobe Road in Petaluma, California, is a historic park that was once the main residence of General Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo's agricultural empire from 1834 to 1846. The park offers a glimpse into the past, showcasing the largest privately owned adobe building in Northern California in the 1830-40's. Visitors can explore the authentic furniture and exhibits depicting early rancho life, as well as enjoy shaded picnic areas with views of farmland and oak-studded hills. Dogs are allowed only in developed areas, with restrictions in certain areas. The park is open daily from 10 am to 5 pm, except on select holidays. Volunteer opportunities are available for those interested in supporting the park's preservation and events. Sonoma Petaluma Parks, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the park through funding projects and events.

USCG TRACEN Petaluma Campground & RV Area is a beautiful facility located at 599 Tomales Road in Petaluma, California. This campground offers a range of amenities including laundry facilities, lodging, a park, parking, and an RV park. MWR Guest Lodging and the RV Campground are now open to all MWR eligible patrons. The Lake Recreation Area on the property features a 5-acre lake with catch-and-release fishing, walking paths, picnic areas, playground, canoes and kayaks, horseshoe pits, volleyball court, pavilion, and charcoal grill. Equipment such as bicycles, coolers, golf clubs, lanterns, sleeping bags, tents, and stoves can be rented from the gym. The RV sites have electric, cable, and water hookups, as well as WiFi. Rates vary based on rank and status, with discounts for active duty and retirees. Pets are allowed but must be kept on a leash and cleaned up after. Cancellations must be made at least 4 days before check-in for a full refund. Access to the base requires valid ID and registration. Foreign nationals must be vetted in advance.
