Lindsay Wildlife Rehabilitation Hospital, located at 1931 1st Avenue in Walnut Creek, California, is a veterinary care institution that provides free medical treatment to native California wildlife. Open every day, the hospital covers 100% of the medical costs for these animals, relying on donations to support their life-saving work. As a volunteer-based organization, they are unable to transport wildlife offsite but aim to return all patients back to their natural habitats. With a drop-off area open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, Lindsay Wildlife Rehabilitation Hospital is the first and one of the largest wildlife rehabilitation centers in the United States, treating over 5,500 injured and orphaned wild animals annually. Their mission is to provide top-notch medical care for regional wildlife, with the help of approximately 350 dedicated volunteers who contribute 60,000 hours of service each year.
