Our story begins with the Pipil people, the original inhabitants of Cuzcatlan, meaning "Jeweled Land," where the lush landscapes are adorned with wild orchids and vibrant vegetation. Juayúa, nestled amidst volcanoes, natural springs, and coffee groves, has a storied history deeply intertwined with coffee cultivation. This tradition has been passed down through generations, and Café Juayúa was founded in 2016 by third-generation coffee producers residing in Los Angeles.
At Café Juayúa, we are dedicated to sustainability and community, from seed to cup. "Delicious coffee! Freshly roasted beans from the family’s farm in El Salvador. The coffee shines in simple drinks (like an americano) and in fun fancy ones (the spiced mocha is amazing). Love this spot. Also, thank you Cafe Juayua for not charging extra for plant milk."
"Under $14 for a cortado and a spicy mocha. I also bought a small bag of persimmons for $6. Best of all you get the service and feel you get in most any Latin American country. In this case it’s a Salvadoran family that owns and runs the business. One of the family members designs the art in the coffee bags. We had a good chat with the woman that helped us. The cortado was superb and I liked the spicy mocha which has just the right amount of spiciness. You can also get persimmon and fig smoothies and cheese. What a gem, I will be back! Meter parking and parking around the neighborhood are available but they also have a parking area in the rear."
