Great selection and lots of hard to find things that you don't get at home cheapo. They are a little bit more expensive, but not by a lot. "This is THE store in Marin county where all the interior designers and high-end construction/remodeling companies to get their top-notch quality products besides many skilled “do-it-yourself” home/business owners. If you’ve been to this store, you may know they have so many variety of fixtures from door handles to bathroom fixtures in display. They even have Fusital (Valli&Valli, Italy) on display. There are trade-only full catalogs to look up the model number/code so you could order them on your own if they can't order it for you. I’m often asking a staff about some odd installation challenges or a specific need for an unusual part my “tinkering” project. They will patiently listen my project and to suggest a workaround or recommend another store nearby (or online) where I might find a part/solution that will work better. Everyone at the store have been the best parts of Jackson's. The employees really stand out far from others. They takes time with you and look for things with you and never rush. And we’ve been renting a weed wacker from Jacksons every spring to cut down overgrown weeds for a wildfire prevention. Ask store staffs for other construction & landscaping tools/gear that might be available to rent. Jackson’s Hardware is a very unique business in San Rafael that I’m so grateful to live near by."
