Fox Theater
β OpenThe Fox Theater, located at 241 South Main Street in Salinas, California, has a rich history dating back to its opening in 1921 as the T & D Theatre. Designed by Albert W. Cornelius, the theater was later acquired by the Fox West Coast Theatres Chain in 1930 and underwent a major renovation in 1935 by architect Alexander A. Cantin. The interior was redesigned in the Skouras style by architect Carl G. Moeller in 1949. The theater was purchased by the Martin Family in 1975 and later sold to Anthony Lane-Cotroneo in 2007. Under new ownership, the theater was renovated and reopened in May 2007. Today, the Fox Theater Salinas hosts a variety of events including banquets, weddings, plays, comedy shows, and conventions. The theater's first floor features three tiers and a stage that can be set up for concerts or banquet-style seating. The balcony level has been updated with modern theater seats, while the entire interior has been repainted and restored to its original Art Deco style. The theater also features dual bars designed to match the original decor.
