Jose has appeared on TV competitions such as TLC's 'Next Great Baker' and Food Network's 'Cake Wars' and 'Holiday Gingerbread Showdown'. In 2021, Jose, together with his sister-in-law Stevie and brother Miguel, opened the first Mmm...Cakes store front on historic Third Ave in Chula Vista.
