"This is where I go to deal with my nightmare back. 25 years ago a man threw me across the floor in a lindy/jitterbug competition. My life was changed after that. For the most part I was with Kaiser who dealt with me. When I turned 65 I decided to leave Kaiser and find somewhere new to help me with my pain. The first person I met was Dr. Salmon. I was accepted as a patient. I had already had a spinal fusion by this time. Dr Salmon set me up with massage and injections and light exercises to help as well as medicine management. I was beyond terrified that because I had been on medication for decades that no one would touch me with a ten foot pole. I love the way the doctors offices are all together and you can go from an injection to a psychiatric session next door. I adore my psychiatrist Dr. Zizmor who is amazingly compassionate and has helped me tremendously. They think outside the box when things don’t work and they don’t abandon you at ten minutes to five when you’re having a huge problem. At this point I feel the people at the office are my family. I trust them. They’ve supported me when I’ve gone through my own personal crisis. I’m grateful to my team there who keep me going with this chronic pain problem which has improved greatly. They helped me transition from oxycodone to Suboxone which actually was relatively easy. I’m really glad I did this as it just works so much better for me. I’m always treated with respect and dignity. I’m glad to have the relationship I have with them."
