Old Mission Santa Ines 1804
Old Mission Santa Ines 1804 is a historic church and place of worship located at 1760 Mission Drive in Solvang, California, United States. This institution is not only a tourist attraction, but also a place where visitors can experience peace and hope. The weekly message from our Pastor, Fr. Michael Ronayne, reminds us of the importance of Jesus' victory and the new life and blessings that come with the Resurrection. Bilingual services are available on Saturdays from 3pm to 5pm at the back of the church, and there is a special focus on recognizing the dignity and value of women in every culture. The institution is also participating in the Together in Mission 2023 "Shine His Light" Annual Appeal to raise funds for struggling parishes and schools during the 250th Year Jubilee of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.
"The Little Mermaid" Fountain
The "Little Mermaid" Fountain in Solvang, California is a stunning replica of Denmark's iconic statue. Installed in 1976 by Earl and Dolores Peterson, this bronze sculpture sits in Denmarket Square on a large stone structure surrounded by a reflecting pool. The city of Solvang, known as the largest Danish settlement in America, boasts a rich Danish heritage with over 150 art galleries, restaurants, souvenir shops, and attractions. This half-sized replica pays homage to Edvard Eriksen's original mermaid statue in Copenhagen harbor, which was erected in 1913.
