Welcome to the Gardena Mayme Dear Library, a cherished community hub located at 1731 West Gardena Boulevard, Gardena, California. As a proud branch of the Los Angeles County Library system, we offer a rich history and a wide range of services to meet the diverse needs of our patrons. Our library's story began under the guidance of the Wednesday Progressive Club before becoming part of the Los Angeles County Free Library in 1914. After a brief jurisdictional change, we returned to the County System in 1951. The current building, dedicated on December 5, 1964, was renamed in 1992 in honor of Mrs. Mayme Dear, a devoted volunteer whose legacy continues to inspire.

Welcome to the Masao W. Satow Library, a cherished cornerstone of the Gardena community, located at 14433 Crenshaw Boulevard, Gardena, California. Named in honor of Masao William Satow, a distinguished Japanese-American who significantly influenced the lives of young adults in the area, our library has been serving the community since its dedication on February 26, 1977. Our library offers a wide array of services and resources to residents of Gardena and the surrounding communities.
