Welcome to the Maywood César Chávez Library, a cornerstone of the Maywood community since its establishment in 1921. Located at 4323 Slauson Avenue, Maywood, California, our library has a rich history of serving the public and promoting literacy and lifelong learning. Originally founded as the Maywood Free Public Library in the Lincoln School, our library has undergone several transformations and relocations, finally settling at its current site next to City Hall in 1961. In 1993, the library was rededicated in honor of the civil rights leader César Chávez, reflecting our commitment to community empowerment and education.
