Old School Smoke Express is a food institution located at 1750 Creekside Oaks Drive in Sacramento, California. Situated in a business park just off the I-5 and Garden Highway, this restaurant offers a variety of sandwiches, salads, and specials featuring scratch-smoked meats and mushrooms. Operating Monday through Friday from 11am to 3pm, all meats are cured, brined, and smoked in-house, while locally sourced sliced sandwich bread and imported Hoagie Rolls from Philadelphia are used. The menu caters to a wide range of dietary needs, including options for Vegan, Vegetarian, Dairy Free, Paleo, Gluten Free, Nut Free, and Atkins/Low Carb diets. Founded in 2013 by Colby Cason, Old School Smoke originally operated as a catering company serving clients in Northern California. After a stint as Catering Director at the Sheraton 4 Points Airport, Colby purchased the former Creekside Café in December 2020 and reopened it as Old School Smoke Express in June 2021 after extensive renovations. Orders can be placed online or in person at the restaurant, with no phone orders accepted.
