Monkey King is a family-owned restaurant located at 3920 Piedmont Avenue in Oakland, California. Our institution is inspired by the legendary superhero from the Chinese novel "Journey to the West," known for his courage, cleverness, and determination. Our restaurant offers a wide array of exciting Asian fusion cuisine, prepared using traditional Chinese metal wok cooking techniques. Each of our locations, including our sister location Monkey King at the Brewery, offers unique dishes based on our family's treasured recipes. Our family's journey mirrors that of Monkey King's quest to retrieve the Buddhist scriptures, as we have faced our own obstacles and challenges in search of freedom and a better life.
