Officer Daryle W. Black Memorial Park
Welcome to Officer Daryle W. Black Memorial Park, a serene and meaningful green space nestled in the heart of Long Beach, California. Located at 2023 Pasadena Avenue, this park stands as a tribute to Officer Daryle W. Black, who bravely served the community and was tragically lost in the line of duty on April 29, 2000. Thanks to the concerted efforts of City Councilwoman Laura Richardson, the Central Neighborhood Advisory Committee, and local community groups, a once-neglected .1-acre lot has been transformed into a vibrant community park. This project, valued at $200,000, was funded through a collaboration between the Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine, the Long Beach Redevelopment Agency, and other local funds.
