Welcome to Los Nietos Library, a cherished community resource located at 8511 Duchess Drive, Whittier, California. Established in September 1919, shortly after World War I, our library has been a beacon of knowledge and learning for over a century. Throughout our rich history, we've served the community from five different locations and even operated a bookmobile for a time. As part of the LA County Library system, Los Nietos Library is proud to offer a wide range of services and programs designed to educate, inspire, and entertain patrons of all ages. We invite young artists to participate in our 45th Annual Bookmark Contest, fostering creativity and engagement among students from grades K-12.

Since its inception in the late 1940s, Sorensen Library has been a cornerstone of the community, offering a wealth of resources and services to residents of all ages. Our library, which reopened in 2010 in a state-of-the-art, eco-friendly building, is the County Library's first green library, boasting a LEED Gold rating. With over 10,655 square feet of space, it provides a comfortable and sustainable environment for reading, learning, and community gatherings.
