Charter Oaks Apartments

"I had an appointment to look at a 1 bedroom apartment this morning and when we walked in the person at the desk looked at me saying "can I help you"? I said we have an appointment at 10 to look at an apartment and he paused for a second annoyed, "one bedroom, two bedroom???" and I said one bedroom. He says sorry I rented our last one yesterday none are available. He said you probably set this up with the call center, i'm faster than they are. Then looked back down at his computer and continued to work. Completely unfriendly and rude. No call or email saying the last apartment had been rented and they didn't have anything to show. I drove a distance for this appointment. Very disappointed in Charter Oaks and the rudeness of this person. I don't usually write bad reviews about anything but the treatment was not good here. Very unfortunate."

"My fiancé has sent multiple maintenance requests to fix the air conditioner the past few weeks and they keep saying they will come, but never do. I’ve been staying with him and been congested in the hot apartment. We can’t be home during the day because it’s way to hot. I don’t understand how they have do many bad reviews with the same issues and nothing has been done. This is a disgrace of a place. Happy to say we’re moving somewhere else next week. I have nightmares of ending up here again and I started getting night terrors. If you consider moving here, DONT!!! For the love of god or whatever higher power you believe in"

"This apartment complex is a nightmare. I lived here for a year and a half. There were multiple maintenance issues that would take weeks to solved because they were deemed "not urgent" like the sink not draining or the A/C being completely non-functional in record breaking heat. When my lease was up, it was incredibly difficulty to complete the proper paperwork because of constant management shuffling. The management team in non-responsive and inefficient. I have attempted to call the office multiple times in the last few weeks and have received no response. Absolutely horrible to deal with. Apartment is also less than desirable quality for the price you pay. UPDATE: I have tried calling now four times, since charter oaks has responded to this review. Not a single person has responded to my voicemails and once I was hung up on after saying "hello". Doesn't really seem like "you never want your residents to feel ignored" and that "every person in our community is very important"."

"Pleasant apartments, if a bit dated, close to two malls and quiet and comfortable overall. Neighbors are always an unknown, but don't expect management to help you out at all. Every year expect your rent to go up a lot. Don't bother asking them to consider giving you a deal, they won't. They don't care about their tenants. They just want your money. Stay or leave, it doesn't matter to them, so they will never cut you a deal as far as rent hikes go, even for long time tenants. Expect at least a 5-10% rent increase every year, despite what the market actually reflects."

"My experience at Charter Oaks apartments thus far has been nothing short of superb. Mind you, this is my first owned apartment. From the beginning, management has been more than helpful and welcoming. Amanda, the property manager, has guided me through the process of being a first-time apartment holder, all the while answering a myriad of my questions regarding the process and additional information wanted. Moreover, regarding minor maintenance fixes, it was an absolute easy process, all because Amanda took the initiative to have it fixed as soon as possible. All I had to do is notify management. Meeting staff in person has also been a pleasure, all staff members treat you as an equal with respect. I've been here for a few months now, despite the short length I've had nothing but great news. Neighbors are friendly and respectful as well. I foresee myself residing here throughout my graduate school program! I highly recommend this place for a nice quiet neighborhood and residency."
