"I would say that a small child could have painted my house better than they did. It took three months of them barely showing up to finish. He kept making excuses that it took three months because I lived far away (an hour) or that I've added work (painting my back porch that's about 4ft by 6ft). He also kept asking for more money through out the job because of some clause that states he can ask for more payment based on percentage of the work done. This lead to me not owing much toward the end and not having anything to withhold from him to get him to do the job. I was swindled. You can see by the photos I uploaded that the work is horrid for a 20k paint job. It would be horrid for a 5k paint job too. I've tried contacting him to get him to come back because he painted over rotted wood that he was supposed to fix and because of the bad paint job but he keeps putting me off and or not responding. If he'd come fix my house I'd give a better rating but at this point my house looks like 6 year old painted it unless you're standing thirty feet away. I'd advise that you either go with someone else or hire some off the streets with zero skill on the cheap - you'd probably get the same results or better and would save several thousand dollars. -Paint smudges -Paint drips - pink drips on white etc -Paint coats too thin -Paint splatters on antique front and back door and on screen door. -Paint splatters on foundation -Paint on my roof from spills -Paint drips on light fixtures -Paint spills on decorative rocks and grass -Paint cracking and peeling -Panted over wood rot instead of replacing the wood. Update. He removed his original hostile response which the edit addresses. I do not trust him to not damage my property if he returned. Edit:The 90 percent of the paint on my foundation is pink and white. The only colors on my foundation before were buttercream yellow. You can even see that that paint was also dripped all over thin rock which wasn't here before as well as my pest control boxes in the photo. I did not force for him to paint in the cold. That is when he scheduled me and he told me the paint would not be affected by temperatures because he would not paint on cold days. It is his responsibility to make sure the paint is applied in right conditions since he's the "expert". Once he was painting in the winter(because he wasnt working on my house in October when he was supposed to) he told me he would only paint on days that were warm enough to not void warranty. Also he did not do me so many favors; he didn't even do the job I paid 20k for. He installed my kiln to tide me over since it was taking 3 months to do my paint job that was quoted to take 10 days. I never asked him to do anything for free. This man is a liar full of excuses. I hope you all can see that. I paid him for all of the labor. Only thing I didn't pay for is the use of a gallon or two of paint he had laying around his garage for my back porch flooring area. I got a text every day he needed to go buy extra paint. I spent about 5.5k on paint which comes out to the 60 gallons he said he used on my house. I also didn't pay for his lift because he knew how tall my house was a did not quote a lift. No one is expected to pay for freaking ladders?? The only reason it was at my house for a week (not three) was because he wasn't showing up everyday to paint my house. He told me he would need it for two days. As for the changes he said I requested, I didn't. The 38 window sealing? He sealed my attic windows? All other windows are new? for the trim lip to be painted white, that was not a change. I requested that the trim be white from the beginning. One of his workers was doing that but he decided he like the siding color to be painted on the side of the trim and went over it all which is why he had to go back over it with white. I was nice enough to give 400 to do it because he were guilting me about his starving workers. That's not my fault that he can't tell trim from siding.the only change I requested was painting my small back porch."
"Nothing but good things to say about New Appearances Painting in 2023. I was looking for a company to paint the exterior of my home. I contacted three companies, received three estimates and felt the most comfortable with New Appearances. They did a great job painting the exterior of my home. Everything was sanded properly, primed, and thoroughly painted. I was surprised at the level of skill and knowledge that Michael demonstrated by following manufacturer guidelines on all the products he used to ensure I would receive the max life out of the products and the warranty promised by Sherwin Williams. Nothing but good things to say and then hired them again in 2024 to do some structural repair on my second story deck and stain it. Highly recommend this company and will continue using."
"I hired new appearance to fix and stain my deck. I could not be more pleased with their work and attention to detail. I would highly recommend them for your deck and painting work"
"I can't say enough positive things. From initial contact to estimate to scheduling to job completion, it was so easy and pleasant to work with Michael. He was responsive, knowledgeable, fair, professional, and just a very nice guy. My deck looks great and I will not hesitate to work with him again in the future. Highly recommend!"
"We had a great experience with Mike and his crew. They truly care about doing a good job and doing things the right way. Mike worked with us within our budget while also detailing any expenses that may come up during the process. They revived the wood, sanded, repaired/replaced deck boards, and stained 2 decks for us using Sherwin Williams products. For these stain products to adhere correctly it’s all about the wood prep. They were within budget and on time. It looks great and we highly recommend their services!"
