She earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine and pursued her internship at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Returning to Kentucky, she completed her residency in Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences, followed by a two-year fellowship in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Louisville.
Dr. Elpers is not only dedicated to her medical practice but also to advancing the field through research. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and continues her clinical research in collaboration with the University of Louisville and Midwest Eye Center.
Outside of her professional life, Dr. Elpers is an avid artist, enjoying drawing and painting. She also loves outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, and playing tennis. Along with her fiancé, Seif, and their beloved collie, Griffin, she enjoys traveling and exploring both local and international food scenes.
