"I saw a marketplace listing on Facebook regarding a portable AC for unit. I was in touch with Pastor Steven Merritt. Messaging and coordinating pick up was good. We negotiated on price and came to an agreement, I came to their house of residence, picked up the item and tested it in front of Steven. Steven did disclose to me that they did not have time to clean the filter, and it was easy to clean. I did confirm that the top filter could be cleaned and removed. However, the unit was not clean but looked like dust, when I got home and started taking this apart to clean it I noticed that there was black mold as I continued to clean. I reached out to Steven and their response was not reliable. I reached out expressing my concerns, and was told afterwards they stored it in a damp place. I asked if I could return the item but was told they’d rather buy mold cleaner. Unfortunately there is mold inside the metal part of the unit where air flows and past the paint of safety. It is disappointing to have Pastor Steven not do the right or honest thing. This listing shouldn’t have been posted. Knowing they are trying to sell a few more units, I would advise someone to bring their tools, take the units apart, and check to make sure this is in good condition to ensure safety and health.
