"Beautiful church!"
"When attending Holy Spirt Elementary and growing up in this perish I took this place for granted. I was never a Catholic but I look back on this place with such fond memories. The church is absolutely gorgeous! Hearing the everyone singing in harmony carried through the large hall is a wonderous and magnificent sound. This church spoiled me, after years of attending here I've found that most other churches don't even start to measure up against it. The sermons were never political or judgey, just pure hearted reminders of various ways to be good to others and yourself. The congregation is made up of good hearted people that made me feel genuinely cared about. The church does so much for others as well. In school we did a lot of drives and volunteering to help people and they did a lot to help me as well. Tuition assistance allowed my mother to send me here on a limited budget and when things got really bad for us the church delivered food to our house. After middle school they gave me a job that helped me earn and save money for college. I haven't attended a mass here, besides funerals, since the early 2000's. I've often thought about going back but I'd just feel like an intruder since I'm non-catholic and your typical lower class riff raff. Luckily I have a good head on my shoulders thanks in part to this place."
"You learn so much about Jesus and the priest Father Cleaves is so wonderful and so bright and smart. He makes you feel like you're part of the family and you are."
"Holy Spirit has great music and thoughtful homilies. The overall approach seems to be focused on finding your and embracing other's essence. If you want to not talk to anyone and personally reflect, you are left alone. Anytime I've attended one of the monthly breakfasts or reached out to those around me, I've been met with nothing but kindness. For involvement, Holy Spirit has simple and consistent programming. The Church collects a different food item each week and has a garden for its volunteer-run food pantry. There is weekly Adoration, a yearly picnic, Lenton/Advent Vespers (readings/short talk), and the other Catholic standards of Stations of the Cross, Confession, n' such. You can also help with Holy Trinity School needs. Beyond that, the Church leadership is receptive to new ideas or support a person would like to give."
"We went to around 4 other Catholic churches before settling on Holy Spirit as our new parish after moving to the area. We have always felt very welcome and the pastors are so friendly."
