Forest Park Income Tax Department

"I have lived in Forest Park since 2019 and at first, was never told by my landlord about the additional taxes I had to pay. I worked with the tax office since I owed back taxes and while I was upset about it, they were professional and understanding. Every year there seems to be an issue with my taxes where they say I haven’t paid when I definitely have, but each time when I call, it gets sorted out. It’s a pain but the people I speak with are kind and professional. I’ve spoken with Jamal and a woman who was incredibly patient and thorough (her name escapes me). Both were great. The people in the office do not make the rules but they do their best to figure things out."

"Frauds. That’s the best way I can put it. They sent me tax info from 6-8 years prior. They sent part of it to Ohio attorney general. They have added so much interest and fees that I am paying 10x what I owed. I received my first statement from them earlier this year. I have went back and forth with them telling me they were contacting the AGO to amend my payment due. Next thing I get is another balance due because they aren’t informing the attorney general of their mistakes. AGO won’t help because FP is supposed to send them corrected information. Surprise. It’s been another almost 2 months and nothing was received by AGO. Now I owe more late fees and interest on money I don’t even owe. I guess it’s not important to FP since it’s not their money or their lives being messed with. I would NEVER live in FP. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. I lived in an apartment and got zero benefits from all of the taxes I paid. Now 8 years later and they are still as greedy and unprofessional as ever. I even received a message saying that “There were several things that were unfortunate timing in all of this.” Unfortunate timing??!!! Please stop harassing me and do your jobs!!! I made 44k one year and owed over 2k in taxes. The math doesn’t add up. I am STILL dealing with this. I hope they learn to stop messing with people and their money. It’s unreal!!!!"

"They stole money from me claiming I had to back pay while I was in the military, then did nothing when they were supposed to return the money to me that they had no right to in the first place. If you serve in the military and your address is in forest park, they cannot charge taxes to military members who aren’t even living in forest park. They are not trustworthy and make money off of people’s high property tax, but refuse to repair basic infrastructure and power lines to improve their own city for its residents."

"Paying all these high taxes out here in forest park. They tax everybody in the household. But then don't give NOTHING for the residents living out here. Don't pick up leaves. I called about fox and her babies being in the area, the lady told me forest park can't do anything about it. Smh Never seen nothing like this. I wouldn't refer NO ONE to move out here. The streets are pitch black at night. With these high taxes it should be gas pole lights on every block!"
