"This park is walkable from my house and the path is easy to access. The lake is a nice place to hang out, take a walk, eat lunch etc. The area is rather quiet and calming."
"★★☆☆☆ Popularity ★★☆☆☆ Size/Location ★★★★★ Terrain ★★★☆☆ Scenery ★★★☆☆ Accessibility ★★★★☆ Amenities ★★★★★ Condition ★★★★★ Safety A few weeks ago, fueled by the positive buzz surrounding this park, I decided to embark on a personal expedition to experience its natural charm firsthand. Needless to say, I was not disappointed by the myriad of captivating features that this park had to offer. As I arrived at the park, the vast parking lot greeted me with only a few cars scattered across its expanse. The reason for this became apparent as I stepped out into the scorching heat; the sweltering weather had seemingly discouraged many from venturing out. I learned that the park was neatly divided into two distinct sections, bisected by a road, and I began my exploration at the eastern section. My journey commenced with a stroll through a shaded children's playground, where the laughter of youngsters filled the air. Continuing along the path, I soon encountered a picturesque lake, complemented by a charming barn nestled nearby. The landscape exuded an aura of serenity, with the gazebo perched on the lake's edge offering a perfect vantage point to take it all in. While the path eventually transitioned into a biking trail, I decided to forgo further exploration for the time being. My next destination was the western section of the park, featuring a somewhat smaller parking lot, yet still relatively uncrowded. My attention was immediately drawn to a well-maintained public restroom equipped with drinking fountains and benches. To my delight, the facility was not only sparkling clean but also emitted a pleasant fragrance. The drinking fountains provided a welcome respite, dispensing fresh and cold water—a true blessing on such a scorching day. In proximity, a large ice skating rink lay dormant, its surface marred by stagnant, murky water—an unfortunate sight amidst the park's natural beauty. My curiosity then led me to explore the nature trail, which began with a gravel path before transitioning into a lush grassy trail. This scenic route encircled a substantial lake, spanning approximately a mile in length—a relatively short but enjoyable walk. Along the trail, Mother Nature unveiled her vibrant palette as wildflowers adorned the banks, each contributing a splash of color to the already picturesque landscape. Although I'm no expert in floral species, I couldn't help but admire the assortment of approximately ten different flower varieties. Strategically placed benches dotted the path, offering perfect spots for contemplation and soaking in the park's splendor. Midway through my journey, I crossed a charming small bridge that provided a splendid vista of blooming flowers and the serene lake below. Unfortunately, the delightful scene was tainted by an unpleasant stench emanating from the water's edge, prompting me to quicken my pace. As I hurried along, I glimpsed a group of individuals engaged in fishing, or at least attempting to. While I didn't linger to witness their success, I hoped their efforts yielded a satisfying catch. Reaching the trail's starting point once more, I concluded my day's adventure. Overall, my visit to this park was an immensely pleasurable experience, serving as a sanctuary for those seeking solace in nature's embrace, even amidst the bustling urban surroundings. Without reservation,I recommend this park to anyone seeking a tranquil escape, and I myself eagerly anticipate a return visit."
"Nice small park with path to walk and playground for kids. *The Recycle drop-off has been moved to behind the Liberty Township Fire Department."
"Had to revisit this suburban park for a bit and was pleasantly surprised. The pond had some white water lilies sprouting in it and I love it because they look similar to lotuses. I once read that the water lilies signify purity of the mind and so witnessing this while stepping across the bridge was delightful. There were also plenty of wildflowers, bees, dragonflies and frogs around here. There is also a standalone fountain but it seems like it’s either turned off or not working. The picnic shelter behind the pond is a bit bare and muted. I didn’t stay long because the humidity got to me but will definitely venture back to see more. So far, the wildflowers here are: -Crimsoneyed rose-mallow -American water lily -purple coneflower -common chicory -Indian blanket -pickerel weed -Missouri ironweed -swamp milkweed -Cattails This place has a simple canvas for anyone who enjoys photographing birds, flowers, family or senior portraits."
"Amazing wildlife and trails to walk around the 2 lakes. Catch and release fishing and even wooded trails. Such a beautiful place even has a skating rink for winter fun."
