"Responding to Dave Allen. This is Don Faulkner. I read your post tonight. It brought back a lot of memories. Jess, Jim, Shorty Rolston, Jon , Eileen, Donna Ducheny, Elizabeth ,Gary Thomas, Herb. The Compton, Bagleys, Myers. Lot of stories from a preacher's kid...some I can't tell."
"I was born and raised in this church. I was baptized when I was a babe by Rev. Wilmert. I was confirmed and joined the church when I was 12 yrs. old by REv. Faulkner. I started singing in the choir when I was 16. Jim Rolsten was my choir director. We preformed a cantata and he gave me a solo part, and I was scared to death. But I prayed and it went very well. Thank you Lord! After graduation from high school I joined the navy. I served 3 yrs. After I was discharged, I came home and started going back to Trinity. It was great seeing people like Shorty Rolsten, a great prayer warrior who was a great mentor for me. Elizabeth Thomas who was my Sunday School teacher. John DuCheney who was a best friend, and also taught Sunday School. Eileen DuCheney was also my teacher. Her son Larry was my best friend. We used to get her frustrated in class, but it was all in fun. She was also a role model in the church. Her and Olive Rolsten used to sing duets together. And of coarse there was Sam Greenawald. What a great Christian man he was. Every one loved him. I remember celebrating a 100 yr. birthday to Guy Moore one Sunday and everyone sang happy birthday to him. It really made his day. I was also married in this church to Delores Roth by Rev. Endicott. In 1962. The reception was in the fellowship hall. John DuCheney took pictures for us as a wedding gift. Of coarse there was Herb Walker. We used to laugh at him because when we had a dinner he always worked himself to be one of the first in line. This was Dave Walker and Linda Breese’s dad. I have seen many pastors come and go at Trinity. Probably my favorite was Rev. Nelson. He knew and loved everyone. If there was a new visitor he made sure he greeted him. My kids all loved pastor Nelson, everyone loved his children’s minutes. We got more out of them than his sermons sometimes. He used to sing ever so often. My favorite was His eyes are on the Sparrow. I can still see him singing that. When I am in Heaven I am going to ask him to sing that again if possible. You see Trinity has been a very big part of my life. I go there because I love the Lord and to be spiritually fed by other Christians. This helps me thru each week after. If you are reading this for the first time you might want to check out our church. It is genuine. Our pastor Rev. Kurt Tomlinson delivers some of the best sermons I have ever heard. We love him! If you think there won’t be any sinners there, you will be mistaken. We are all sinners saved by grace. Hope to see you in Church. Dave Allen"
