"I'm not old, but I'm old enough to remember when independent bookstores were everywhere. When I first started traveling in the late '90s, it seemed like every town I discovered had at least one unique bookstore. Then the chains began to take over, and now it seems like even the Barnes and Nobles are few and far between. Finding a used bookstore is even harder, and almost gone are the days that I can spend an hour in the store and leave ten books heavier while only spending $30-50. I had been to Carolina Shores a few times and my unfortunate luck with bookstores had continued. Then this time I discovered Books & Moore. It's not the biggest store in the world, but there are a lot of great titles packed into a not-cluttered space. I was able to look at every title in the store without feeling rushed, and buy a few books that I was happy to bring home. The owner, who was working in the store when I visited, left me alone to swim amongst the titles, and was friendly and conversational when I was finally ready to talk. Next time I visit I'll bring a bigger suitcase!"
