Welcome to the City of Laurinburg Public Works Department, your local government office dedicated to maintaining and enhancing our community's infrastructure and services. Located at 503 Hall Street, Laurinburg, North Carolina, our General Services Department is committed to providing essential services to our residents and businesses with efficiency and professionalism.

Our Services:

The General Services Department is comprised of several key divisions, each playing a vital role in our operations:

1. Public Works Administration: This division supports all activities at the Public Works facility, including General Services, Public Utilities, Information Technology, and Electrical Services. Under the leadership of Public Works Director Stacey McQuage and Assistant Director Angie Foster, we ensure seamless coordination and management.

2. Building and Fleet Maintenance: Situated at 501 Hall Street, our Fleet Maintenance Facility oversees the upkeep and repair of over 480 vehicles and equipment, ensuring they are in top condition. Our dedicated team of six full-time employees maintains service records and assists with the City/County Fueling Facility.

3. Solid Waste Management: Serving 5,650 residential customers, our Sanitation Department offers weekly garbage collection and bi-weekly recycling services. We also provide bulky item and yard waste collection, ensuring a clean and sustainable environment. Commercial dumpster services are available for our business community.

4. Electric Operations: Operating an extensive electric distribution system, we deliver reliable power to 5,630 customers with a team of nine skilled employees. Our services include load management credits, rebates, and Time-of-Use electric rates. We also maintain a 70-mile fiber optic network, supporting connectivity throughout the City and County.
