Reviews
"Mungo quality assurance is lacking significantly and doesn’t fix things correctly. After we purchased - the “warranty” managers argued with us even after issues we identified before closing were not addressed properly. We found that many codes were not met after construction and their trades people were not good (with a couple exceptions). Also after Mungo passed the development onto the new HOA they have failed to respond to issues identified by the community. They built quick and promise everything but never deliver. I would not recommend them as a builder."
"My husband and I purchased our move-in ready home 20 months ago and love it! Because of circumstances, we bought site unseen. We saw two houses that were available through a video from our sales agent. Our real estate agent found it very easy to work with Ken and Marsha. The price was not negotiable but many extra were added that satisfied us very much. We love the community and people here. Our only concern is the size of the pool."
"Friends & I were shopping (2 homes) for retirement. Upon reviewing the previous ratings ...no way would we consider a Mungo home. Models are nice but to many headaches (see write ups, all bad, rating one)"
"The comments by Mr Furman are spot on. We've been here for over 15 months and the issues just get worse as time goes by. The sales staff for some unknown reason, thinks it's a good idea to completely alienate the homeowners by attacking anyone that has a question with cursing, name calling, asking them to sell their home and move out. Could that be any dumber? We are the best source of sales leads and positive comments they have. Management at every level seems unconcerned with that behavior. All I can say is ; Buyers Beware! Anything said, promised, or even indicated by the sales staff should be included in the sales offer in writing. Anything! Additionally, though these homes are new, you should include a Home inspection certificate as a contingency... Good luck!"
"Mungo Homes is a small builder building too many homes at once due to demand in the Cypress Village location in Little River SC area and producing an overall product that is lacking in so many ways. As a Mungo Homes home owner, my experience has been seriously flawed due to a corporate structure that has too few dedicated employees, lack of follow through once a home is purchased, and workmanship that is sub-standard in many ways. We have worked through numerous issues in the first year of ownership with follow up items and the home owner's concerns are rarely addressed with the enthusiasm and the skill required to alleviate the buyer's concerns. It takes calls to their Columbia HQ to try and resolve most issues and they are so far removed from the product due to location that it normally appears they are just trying to clear items from their check list. As the building pace has accelerated, new homes are rapidly being built and as we hear about all of the issues with these homes once they are purchased, it becomes very draining reliving our experience through each of these new home owners. If a new home is in your future, make sure you are willing to accept these challenges if you purchase a Mungo Home. If you complain too much, I have been told that the real estate agents at the community will tell you to sell your home. I've never heard of a corporation that survives if the buyer's concerns aren't addressed with an acceptable resolution."
