"I very much enjoyed my visit to Hayesville Church of God. The church felt very welcoming. The lobby included a sanitation station with disinfection wipes and hand sanitizer. There were about 30 people at the Sunday morning service. There were two pianists plus two musicians on guitars and three lead singers. On the Sunday I was there there were no lyrics visible and no hymn numbers spoken, so if you don’t know the words there was not much of a way to follow along, but the worship music sounded very good and was lively. The congregation was engaged; at prayer time it seemed like no one was afraid to speak up with prayer requests. The church’s longtime pastor, Rev. Mitchell Totherow, preached with the kind of welcome zeal you want your pastor to have. Afterward he greeted me with a warm reception and gave me a gift bag for newcomers which included a coffee mug, a pen, and a bookmark. He seemed genuine and kind. I’d definitely come back."
