"My parents switched doctors last year because their primary care physician for many years moved to another location in preparation for retirement. Dr Barrett and Dr Yates we’re suggested. My dad saw Dr. Barrett and my mom saw Dr. Yates. I have been mostly satisfied with the care they received. However, a scheduled appointment for 1/16 was apparently cancelled and we were not informed. My mom and I went for the afternoon appointment and the office was closed. Since my dad’s passing, my elderly mom lives with me due to health reasons, an hour away from the doctors office. The next day I called to find out why we were not called since their office is the one that made the appointment. I was told that a new system had been installed and apparently we fell through the cracks. Apologies were made for not double checking for these errors. The appointment was rescheduled for 2/6. We go to the appointment and was told the doctor is out sick. I asked why did they not call us. We have an hour drive. I was told they left a message on my mom’s answering machine. Again, I tell them they are supposed to call my phone. They knew this. The doctor knows this. The appointment was rescheduled again for 2/20, late morning. Again, an hour drive to get to the appointment. Third time. We were late for the appointment, that’s on us and we apologized for being late. However, we were told the doctor would not see us since we were late. Really, we will sit and wait to be called back, sit in the room waiting for her to come in and because we are 10-15 minutes late she would not see us and would need to reschedule. No, we are not rescheduling. I’m very disappointed and upset with this doctor and her staff. The lady at the window was very blasé. She could have cared less that we drove an hour, not to mention prep time to get my mom ready for the appointment. I will contact HR in regards to this. Two trips we made for appointments that were cancelled, nothing to do with us, but we were not contacted properly. We we’re aggravated But tried to understand. Now, because we were late, they have no understanding? Unacceptable."
