"I have been using Yes Storage in Powell and they have been very very good to me!! A keeper for as long as you need them."
"Clean, a/c works, nice man in office. Checked out on the 5th and did not prorate for the month. That is a rip-off but otherwise nice place."
"Great deal on a storage unit when we needed it. Just beware that there are mice in them. Ended up having to throw away some stuff due to feces and urine from the mice."
"To accommodate an upcoming move, I spoke with Gary at Yes Self Storage in Powell about a storage unit at 11:30 A.M. on 8/9/21. Gary let me know they had two storage unit sizes available and I chose the larger of the two. Pricing was absolutely the highest of any storage facility in the area but they were the only ones with availability so I paid my first month. On my ride home I began to do a mental inventory of all of the things that were going to have to fit in the storage unit and I realized that I had bought far too small. Within half an hour of leaving the facility I called Gary and let him know of the situation and he just restated that the unit I reserved was the largest available. I told him that it is going to be far too small for me and I would have to consider other options. Gary responded with, "Ok.". I let him know that I would be in touch. Gary again said, "Ok.". This is pretty on brand for Gary as it seems working as manager for a storage facility is actually the perfect occupation for his personality type. This is not meant to demean those in the service industry, but to illustrate the opaqueness of Gary's apathy. On 8/9/21 at 12:00 P.M., I visited Gary again to conclude our business. Gary let me know that there is a 24 Hour Refund Period and that I was 30 minuets outside of it. According to Gary, this policy is iron clad and there was nothing he was willing to do to accommodate me. For clarity, I am not complaining about Gary being dishonest, as I do not believe he was. Could he have mentioned the 24 hour period when I spoke with him on the phone when I was telling him I had to seek another solution? Absolutely. Does him not doing so make him dishonest? No. From my vantage, Gary was either being incompetent or predatory. I'm honestly not sure which. I asked Gary for the name of the owner of the property, which he refused, as it is Top Secret information, apparently. Gary let me know he was the manager, so the buck obviously stops with him. I asked where documentation was that displayed this 24 Hour Policy and Gary said it was in my lease agreement. I asked Gary to produce a copy of said lease agreement, which he did. I asked Gary where in the lengthy document this clause was and Gary responded, "I'm not sure, but it's in there.". After reading it and not finding it, I updated Gary to which he responded, "I only said it *might* be in there.". At this point it was apparent to me that Gary just wanted me to go away. Gary was working on selling the storage unit I just got bilked over to a pleasant young woman so he had other things on his mind, I suppose. I calmly recommended to the young lady that she shop around as I would be nervous about being left in the customer service hands of Gary. I would be pretty mortified if I was the business owner and this type of thing was commonplace. I would also like to level-set and give added context to make sure anyone who reads this knows that I remained completely composed throughout the duration of this interaction and did not get "Karen-y" or loud or anything of the sort. And to his credit, Gary also did not get combative. His disposition of choice was apathy. I also accept the fact that if I had been thinking properly about my needs I never would have paid down for a storage unit that did not suit my needs. This is clearly my fault. But I do not feel I am being unreasonable to expect some form of accommodation to be made for me given the circumstances mentioned above. This is a customer service lay-up and Gary at Yes Self Storage Powell botched it terribly. The poor business practices of this location are truly disappointing and combined with their relative high price, I would highly recommend other buyers avoid Yes Self-Storage Powell (and Gary should he begin working elsewhere) like the plague."
"Clean, secure units. Friendly and helpful staff, easy payment options. Really like the fact that I can pay my monthly rental bill online. My unit is climate controlled, and while there is no ramp for entry into climate controlled units, the lip is so small, any wheelchair or walker can easily enter."
