He earned his medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine, graduating with the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha honor and receiving the American Society of Clinical Pathologists’ Award.

His extensive training includes both an internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he was recognized with the American Federation for Medical Research Centocor Gastroenterology Scholar Award and the Southeast Center of Excellence in Geriatric Medicine Resident Award. Dr. Creel further honed his expertise with a fellowship in gastroenterology at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, focusing on advancing colorectal cancer screening techniques.

Dr. Creel is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, the American Gastroenterological Association, the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the American College of Gastroenterology. His clinical interests cover a broad spectrum, including the effects of HIV on the gastrointestinal tract, treatment of Hepatitis B & C, gastroesophageal reflux disease, colorectal cancer screening, and biliary endoscopy.

Since joining Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates in 2011, Dr. Creel has been committed to providing compassionate and comprehensive care to his patients. His dedication to his field is reflected in his ongoing recognition by Castle Connolly since 2023.
