"Great trail. Crosses over private land. Be aware and courteous. Beautiful lake scenery. In the spring there are beautiful wild flowers."
"Nice and clean area. Some campers did leave a little trash but very little. We went at night to video some fish underwater our action cams. There were plenty of little minnows and the occasional larger fish like bluegill and bass. But the 2 foot plus spotted gar took the prize. He was in about a foot of water right at the bank. I got some good video as he slowly swam away. I was surprise it didn't bolt even I came upon it. None of the fish did."
"Awesome place to stretch your legs and release your mind"
"From Morganton Branch Trailhead the trail extends southward 1.8 miles to the Wildcat Pointe Trailhead. Most of the hike closely follows the Parkway and only the first half mile or so follows the lake. A variety of steps, one bench and a 106′ boardwalk have been installed by the Watershed Association of Tellico Reservoir (WATeR) and the trail is also well maintained. Approximately .85 mi south from MB trailhead there is a Tellico Parkway crossing. Once across, you follow a skinny trail through an evergreen forest that continues to parallel the Parkway. After crossing the unnamed business park road, you walk right next to the Parkway until turning right onto the gravel Mills Rd, walking a short distance. then ascending into the woods. Before converging with Wildcat Pointe Branch, my favorite part of this branch ascends through a pine forest to a ridge with an elevation of about 200 feet above the summer lake level providing excellent views of the area in the wintertime. Note: This branch is actually listed from Peterson Rd trailhead as 3.1 miles to the Wildcat Pointe Trailhead. You can reduce hike to 2 miles RT by going point-to-point from Peterson Road to Morganton Branch Trailhead or 3.6 mi RT from Morganton Branch to Wildcat Pointe Trailhead."
"Good dock but left side is super slippery. Watched a lot of people struggle getting out boats. I would suggest 4x4, which is what I have and no issue. Normally not to crowded but you will run into people fishing off the dock and just being in the way in general."
