Fannin County Animal Control
About the Business
Fannin County Animal Control
Welcome to Fannin County Animal Control, a dedicated local government office located at 1001 Fannin Industrial Park, Blue Ridge, Georgia. Our primary mission is to ensure the safety and well-being of both the community and its animal residents. Our facility, though small, plays a crucial role in housing stray and quarantined dogs, and while we are not a humane society, we strive to find loving homes for our animals through adoptions and partnerships with rescue organizations.
In collaboration with the Fannin County Georgia Sheriff’s Office, we take animal cruelty complaints seriously and conduct thorough investigations to protect animals from harm. Our commitment extends to transparency and accountability, in line with the Georgia Open Records Act (O.C.G.A § 50-18-71). We provide access to public records, with administrative and copying fees applicable as per state regulations. The first 15 minutes of processing your request are free, with subsequent time billed at the hourly rate of the lowest paid full-time employee qualified to fulfill the request. Copies are charged at $0.10 per page unless otherwise specified by law.
For your convenience, you can download, print, and submit an Open Records Request form or use our online request platform. In addition to our animal control services, we urge the community to be prepared for various emergency situations, including floods, fires, severe weather, public health alerts, and criminal activity. Your safety and the safety of our animals are our top priorities.
For more information or assistance, please contact us at 706-632-2203 or visit us at 400 West Main Street, Blue Ridge, GA 30513. Together, we can ensure a safe and caring environment for all.

"Brandy was so helpful and went out of her way to help us. So thankful!"
"I found 3 puppies in the middle of nowhere while off roading in fannin county so I took them home and held on to them through the weekend and brought them here on a Monday. The lady with the short gray hair was extremely rude, rolling her eyes at me, and acting like a Karen the whole time I was dropping them off. I felt like I was doing a good thing by saving these puppies that were stranded miles and miles down a dirt road, but she treated me like I was a bad person. She was mad that I live in TN but found the dogs only a mile or so over the GA line. I’m a huge dog lover, so it’s really sad to me that such a hateful person works here. I seriously hope they treat the dogs better than they treated me!!"
"Thanks to JR and Luke for the tour last weekend. Both were very nice and courteous and keep their facility very clean. Appreciate your kindness during our search for a new pooch. Pat & Gary Jackson"
"Took our daughter here after a terrible tour of the Humane Society in BR. We had a wonderful experience. We could not have been treated better. They made our daughter feel wonderful and awesome to get to volunteer to spend time walking, petting and loving these animals. If you are looking to volunteer and truly help animals we highly recommend doing it here! Thanks"
"They never answer the phone or care to come and check about a horse that has been neglected in our area. We have called several times, but nothing has been done. It has no food, shelter, and little water. It is living off of weeds. It's heartbreaking having to drive by everyday to see the poor horse standing starving without shelter or attention. So please take a little more interest in your job. It's really a shame."
