"Not a good place to go if you are a caring father. Very few resources and very little to no help. Trust me when I say if you can’t afford a $5000 lawyer. You won’t receive any help or guidance to maintain or keep your rights as a parent. They DO NOT care about the children at all"
"Unprofessional attorneys and staff. They don't care about your rights. Michigan is an awful place to live."
"I called and spoke to a supervisor in the child support enforcement office today. If you've never struggled in life and have these type of community based jobs a little advice..when a mother is calling asking what can be done because a father is behind in payments dont laugh ! Nothing you say is funny at this point. You assumed your employee was coming back to work on Monday next week admitting you had no idea of his return. When I stated his voicemail says he will return on Wednesday of this week you had the audacity to say well I just figured monday because WHY would he want to come back ?! Then laughed like it was a joke . Cringeworthy conversation with a supervisor to say the least. Do better ! Also , any parent that is considering to have the state involved trust your gut and go for full custody in the beginning! Speaking from experience"
"Don't ever plan on hearing back from someone if you leave a message. After custody trial, father was ordered to pay child support. Went back to court a few months later and the judge asked if I had been receiving the child support, I said no. Turns out FOC forgot to put the order in. This was in June 2014, the order wasn't actually put in from FOC until June of 2015, a full year after the hearing. No back pay since they just didn't implement it in the first place, cool."
"They simply follow some sort of generic-response handbook and actually have no idea at all how to handle general inquiries about even basic issues. One of the most formulaic, and least case-by-case offices around. I've heard of male friends of mine being awarded both physical and legal custody, only to have the FOC insist that they still pay the other party until the third or fourth intervention by an attorney- simply because they have no concept of anyone other than the mother being awarded anything. Say one thing, do another Screw the father, favor the mother Give us money, don't be late Legal extortion sure is great NOTE- I only gave them one star because zero stars isn't an option."
