"Had no idea this gem was here. The quality, freshness, and presentation of the sushi was fantastic. All the staff and owner were so nice and accommodating. I am a bit of a sushi snob, have very high standards and was thrilled. I just returned from Japan a few months ago, and while “American Style” it was on par with its traditional equivalent in Japan and I’d put Sky Sushi up against any big city restaurant any day!!"

"Nestled in downtown Houghton is this gem of a sushi restaurant. From the moment you step inside, it’s clear that this place is a testament to the owners’ unwavering dedication to quality. Quality can take time, so please factor this in when visiting Sky Sushi. This restaurant has become one of my family’s most coveted places in the area. Being from the East coast and having traveled quite a bit, we can be fairly particular with our sushi. Sky Sushi most definitely exceeds our expectations every time! Thank you for all you do!"

"We were visiting town, and picked this spot for dinner with the kids. There are 7 in our party, 2 adults, 5 children. We were told the restaurant was “full” though a long table had just become available. We were told there were people ahead of us with a 30 minute wait. We said we could just sit outside and we’re told that the only way to do that was to order to go. We said that was no problem. We placed our to go order and sat outside waiting. 40 minutes later we checked and were told that our order had not been started yet. When we asked for water we were told that we were not allowed to drink with glass cups outside but we could buy drinks instead. Another 30 minutes later I went in again and asked where our food was. We were told that they are very busy and they just started on our food. I complained that expectations were not properly set. We had little kids and had a 2 hour drive to Marquette where we were staying the night. If we had known it would take this long to get take-out there is no way we would have stayed. The manager offered no apologies but instead said that her servers told us it would be an hour wait. This was totally untrue and unnecessary. I let her know we aren’t trying to have an argument. We want to make sure that they understand that for people from out of town they may want to explain what to expect. I let her know that we were not served water and now it had started drizzling outside where we are waiting. We are happy to eat inside but again this was not offered. No apology, no concession, nothing. I just spent over $100 here and I am contemplating cancelling the order and going somewhere else. I went outside and we continue to wait for our food. throughout this 90 minute period lots of patrons are walking in and getting their to go food, and new patrons are arriving and getting served. I chalk it up to “all these people must have ordered ahead to place their orders”. Finally, one hour and fifty minutes later we get our food. No apology. The manager says to me that everyone local knows that they are very busy and only have two chefs. Wow! Great for you! Don’t eat here!"

"Sky sushi is always an amazing experience: I’m so glad they reopened their dining room! Their food is always amazing and beautifully presented, and they’re so kind! We are definitely big fans and I will always recommend this spot to friends that visit !"
