This procedure is performed under local anesthesia with minimal risk and does not require a hospital stay. However, it is important to note that while effective for birth control, a vasectomy does not protect against sexually transmitted infections.

"I have seen Dr. Yalowitz multiple times, and unfortunately, my experiences were consistently negative. He often speaks about his lengthy career and his expertise, but this did not translate into compassionate or effective care. During my last visit, he repeatedly told me, "I can't help you," and advised me to "go see someone at a university," without providing any recommendations or contact information. I subsequently consulted another urologist who promptly diagnosed me with meatal stenosis, a relatively common condition. Given Dr. Yalowitz's professed experience, it is baffling that he failed to identify this issue. His demeanor was rude and unhelpful, and I would not recommend his services to anyone."
