"I would leave no stars if I could. My love one just transferred to this facility yesterday. They did not prepare his room for his arrival. Dirty utensils on his bedside dresser. Used linen in the other dresser. His roommate belongings are in both sides of the closet. The nurse tells me that his roommate family has to come and remove them. That should have already cleared the closet. I’ve waiting to speak with nurse & supervisor for an 1 hr. The supervisor walking around with her dog. This is unacceptable. Will definitely look to move him immediately!"
"Thursday July 25 2024. South Holland Manor. Is a Horrible place. I had to give one star in order to leave a review.. Very , Very disappointed with the staff, and the service. The Majority of the nursing staff have no respect for the patients, nor the visitors .. My love one was cursed out by the staff, they developed bed sores while in the manor care, they couldn't walk, it took them hours to change them..The only thing I seen them be good at was gossiping, especially hanging out in the Director of Nursing Office . A room full of them, not working at all ..No compassion for people love ones.. Patients lights stay on for Hours. Patients screaming someone help me for over 30 minutes. I pushed the light one time and it took them almost 45 minutes to respond to the light.. Only to tell me they had to find the nurse. It was only a few staff members that seem to like the job that they choose, the others are working just for the paycheck ( sad).. I know we all work to survive, but why do something ( especially taking care of sick people) when you don't have compassion for others.. Would you want someone to mistreat your love one the way you treated other people love ones..Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone... So Sorry that I put my love one in this place. Who sadly and eventually passed away..."
"I only visited a few times because I live out of town. But when I visited the nurses were nice and helpful. My mom's chaplain Phil, was great with her and there when she needed him most, before she passed. She also had a hospice nurse that took very good care of her there. Over all I never felt like my mom was not getting the care that she needed during her short stay there. Front staff was always welcoming and friendly when I was coming and going."
"If you want your love one to die sending them here they will. I don't even know how or why this facility is still in operation. The unprofessionalism here is mind boggling. My mother was treated very inhumane here. I just wonder when these CNA, Nurses, Administrators etc. offer care to the elderly do they ever think how they would want their love one to be treated. I had several bad encounters at this place this box doesn't have enough characters. Mind you my mother was only there for 2 weeks and all of these bad encounters started at the onset. The main incident that occurred the staff tried to move my mother who had bed ridden for months due to her illness. They were trying to make her stand because she had a bowel movement. The staff was so mad and impatient with her in the process they cut her leg on a machinery. She had to be rushed to the hospital to get 9 stiches put in here leg. I have filed a complaint with the department of aging in regards to this matter. For this facility to be investigated. The Director of Nursing told me after I informed her nobody call to tell me about the incident. My mother had to call me and tell me it happened. She said I don't have time to be calling about every little scratch that happens to a patient. Her insensitivity to the matter was unbelievable. And the nurses and the CNA when I say everybody has a bad attitude in this facility. I mean everybody!! PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS FACILITY!!!"
"Staff have good attitudes. But, after that I can’t say anything good. My husband sugar is dropping, second night I add. No matter how long I try to reach someone to ask for help, no one answers the phone. 2/3 and 2/4/24. This is so sad!! I warned almost everyone that had something to do with his care of this problem and was assured he would be taken care of. Not true. Praying for our love ones left in their care. Not to mention that he’s been in there two days and cannot receive medication due to it being sent to the wrong pharmacy. I had to research this for myself and could not get any help until Monday. I’m told. Even if they talk to the pharmacy on Sunday, the medication will not be released until Monday and this is an antibiotic and his pain meds after major surgery. I am so grieved over healthcare these days. God please help."
