As a tuition-free community music school, we are dedicated to improving the lives of young people through comprehensive music instruction and performance.

Our Mission

At West Point School of Music, we believe in the transformative power of music. Our mission is to engage urban youth by cultivating artistically connected, socially conscious, and productive adults. We understand the critical role music education plays in underprivileged communities, where budget constraints have led many schools to limit or eliminate arts programs. Our after-school programs fill this gap by offering high-quality, unique, and culturally diverse musical education.

Our Programs

Our premiere performing ensemble, Epic Steel, introduces students to the rich musical heritage of the steel pan orchestra, performing Calypso music from Trinidad and exploring genres like Latin, Jazz, Classical, and Contemporary music. Through this diverse repertoire, our students develop flexibility, musical chops, and a deep appreciation for different cultural expressions.
