Hawthorn Suites By Wyndham Kingsland I-95/Naval Base Area

"Room was clean and service was wonderful. My issues were that their was a strong overwhelming odor in the room. It was almost industrial like. It got into our cloths and luggage and was in all of the linen in the room. Also, we were in room 125 which is an ADA room. There was no hand held shower head or any way to use the shower resulting in both myself and husband taking quick sponge baths instead. Also, no bath soap in the bathroom. Just shampoo and conditioner. I would recommend to the management staff that this room be taken out of order for maintenance. The smell kept my husband up most of the night and a hot shower was what we both really wanted after hours of traveling. On a lighter note, the woman working in the breakfast area ( 8/29 )was especially wonderful. Very kind and welcoming."

"Rooms were large and clean but the ac struggled a bit. It maintenance 74 during the day and finally down to 68 by the morning. And was quite loud. Apparently it was an issue with multiple rooms our group all had ac issues. The hallways smelled of mildew, the breakfast was okay. Staff was friendly, saying welcome back everytime we came through the lobby. The bedding could be better. The mattress cover kept coming completely off showing the mattress which is very undesirable. They were using sheets as the mattress cover and used another sheet for over the duvet instead of a duvet cover. No bugs and pretty clean. The pool was nice and we used it every night of our stay. Hot tub was out of order."

"Loved my 4 day 3 night stay at Hawthorn Suites. Ms. Swan, the receptionist, was pleasant and truly awesome!!! She made sure my family and I had everything we needed!!! The hot breakfast every morning was amazing. I will definitely return again. Thank you for an amazing experience."

"Upon check in I had to wait for someone to be at the front desk for 5+ minutes. When the woman did come in she asked about if I needed to check in and my name. After this I was confused because she was talking and it didn’t make sense, she had an ear bud in and was on the phone. Upon entering the room it had a very musty smell and the AC would not go any lower than 72. In a jacuzzi room temperature is essential. While in the jacuzzi a roach crawled out of the access panel to the jacuzzi. After I killed this I then encountered ants alive and dead in the restroom. Then while crawling into bed plugging things in I saw between the bed and nightstand was a used bandaid. I’ve stayed at this hotel many times over the past few years but both the staff and cleanliness have went down hill drastically. I brought my concerns up to the front desk and they were dismissed and said the Exterminator was there yesterday. With so many other hotels in this area, use another one if you want a great stay."
