"Disappointing Experience at Club Pilates I have been doing Pilates for a long time here. I felt compelled to share my recent experience. Their policy requires a 30-day notice for taking a break, so I informed the receptionist well in advance. Despite that, I was still charged for another month due to the receptionist's failure to update the same in the system. What's more disheartening is the club's response—or lack thereof— when I brought this issue to their attention. Instead of acknowledging their mistake and offering a refund, they shrugged off their staff's mistake of not updating the same in the system. It's not just about the money but I expected better from Club Pilates."
"Before joining this studio, I checked reviews, which were all positive. I expected a challenging experience based on recommendations about Pilates being more demanding than traditional strength training. However, my first impression was disappointing – the person at the front desk, who I later learned was Abby, my Pilates instructor, completely ignored me. Abby seemed indifferent and unhelpful when I sought guidance especially since it was my first time there. Despite this, I decided to get a monthly pass with a friend for 8 class credits. The initial classes were enjoyable and provided a different workout than my usual gym routine. Yet, over time, I found the classes repetitive and some instructors less engaging. Personal favorites were Jessica, Leah and Andrea, who actively assisted and provided alternatives for exercises. Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy Abby's classes, as her exercises caused discomfort. Alyson was another instructor I wouldn't recommend. The availability of preferred classes became a major issue, often fully booked or on a lengthy waitlist, depending on your membership billing cycle. Another major drawback was the inflexibility with credits. Being sick for three weeks in December meant I couldn't carry credits to the next month. Attempting to cancel my membership in December, I discovered a 30-day notice requirement, which felt somewhat hidden in the policy. (This could have also been my fault for not thoroughly reading the policy agreement after I signed it) The policy also required three months before canceling, creating an inconvenience for those no longer interested. In conclusion, while trying something new is encouraged, my overall experience makes me hesitant to repeat it."
"Cant say enough good things about this studio! Leah is an awesome, light hearted instructor who always makes you feel comfortable. She helped me through my workouts while I was pregnant, helping me adjust so that I could keep making classes until I was 32 weeks! The staff at the front are always friendly and welcoming! Give them a try if you’re looking for a great workout & friendly faces!"
"I started attending Club Pilates in late summer 2020 in the midst of the pandemic. The studio felt extremely clean and safe, which allowed me to continue staying committed to my health while the world shut down. Beyond this, there are so many pros! The instructors are all fabulous and each class is completely different, which keeps it exciting. I also love that they offer more cardio and strength-based (e.g. TRX) classes, so I truly get a full-body workout."
"The owner and staff at Club Pilates in Newtown are committed to providing a safe, supportive, friendly atmosphere to gather and workout. Pilates not only involves physical workouts but a positive mindset as well. The instructors walk around to provide instruction on proper positioning and to support each individual as needed. The studio provides various classes to meet different needs of individuals and usage of different exercise equipment. The Pilates reformer is a staple of course but equipment also includes TRX, Bosu, free weights, Pilates Chair, barre, Pilates Ring, bands, mat and more! You can try a class for FREE! During Covid shutdown (currently scheduled until 1/4/20 per Gov Wolf), there are videos available in the members only Facebook group."
